Mimi Alef was our challenge chairman and boy, did she challenge us! Fat quarters of orange speckled, blue with white dots and tiny cherries, a greenish batish print, a reddish, orangish watery stripe print with thin stripes of green, blue and yellow and dark flecks and then a black and white stripe, with a gray shadow were our "challenge" fabrics. With each challenge fabric we used, we could add one of our own -- all five challenge fabrics meant we could add five fabrics for a total of ten. Some of us opted not to use all the fabrics, some went all out and used every scrap of every fabric. The results were as stunning and varied as our quilters!
